UCLA picked 2nd, USC 11th in Pac-12 basketball preseason poll

SAN FRANCISCO -- Arizona is picked to win the Pac-12 conference regular-season basketball title this year according to a vote of media members.
The Wildcats had 21 first-place votes in polling announced at the conference’s annual media day Thursday. Defending champion UCLA, with new Coach Steve Alford, edged out Colorado by one point for second place.
USC, with new Coach Andy Enfield, was voted 11th of the 12 conference teams, finishing ahead of only Washington State.
Oregon was voted fourth, two points ahead of California, and Stanford edged out Arizona State for sixth place, Washington, under embattled Coach Lorenzo Romar, has been chosen eighth with Utah, Oregon State, USC and Washington State at the bottom.
Media have correctly picked the conference winner 12 out of 21 times.
