Clippers seek to improve defense, waive forward Lou Amundson

The Clippers took Saturday off, but when they return to practice Sunday and Monday they will look to get their defensive intensity back.
While most of the Clippers were talking after Friday night’s game against Sacramento at Staples Center about needing to improve their defense, they found out that forward Lou Admundon had been waived.
So now the Clippers have a 14-man roster as they prepare to open the regular season against the Lakers on Tuesday night at Staples Center.
The Clippers talked about holding the Kings to just 20 points in the first quarter and then giving up 37 in the second, 32 in the third and 21 in the fourth.
The Clippers also know that they didn’t play their starters much after the first quarter.
Still, the plan is for the Clippers to get back that defensive mind-set during the next two practices.
“We just have to be cognizant of it and make sure that’s our focus,” Blake Griffin said.
