An unidentified man in his early 20s was shot to death while using a pay phone, police said.
The victim was making a call at the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Vanowen Street about 1 a.m. Friday when someone shot him several times in the head, according to investigators. There were no known witnesses, but neighbors told police they heard sounds that sounded like gunshots about that time.
The man’s body was found by a passerby about 6 a.m. LAPD Officer Don Cox said there was no apparent motive for the killing. The coroner was attempting to determine his identity.
