Not Interested in No. 2: Nunn

WASHINGTON — Sen. Sam Nunn of Georgia today said he told Michael S. Dukakis’ campaign chairman this week that he is not interested in the Democratic vice presidential nomination.
Nunn did not rule out accepting such an offer, saying in an interview it would be “very presumptuous” to respond to hypothetical questions about what he would do if the No. 2 spot were offered by Dukakis. However, he said: “It’s not my desire to have that job offered to me and then to turn it down. I don’t think that’s good for the process” or for Dukakis.
