The new owners of Hotel Figueroa, a quirky boutique inn dating to the 1920s, are planning a $30 million renovation intended to bring back its original Spanish Mediterranean decor. The interior is now a fading but flamboyant interpretation of Morrocan style. "It was a very classy, elegant place," said one of the owners, Jack vanHartesvelt. "Now it's more like a movie set."
