Police Abuse Rewarded

Re “Taped Punch Costly to City,” Jan. 19: So, if I am to understand this correctly, two Inglewood police officers beat up a black teenager. Perhaps I should qualify that “beat up” would be as any sane, rational and reasonable person would see it and not as the law or the Police Department would see it. The only outcome of this abuse after three years is that the two police officers who violated the teenager are awarded large sums of money for “discrimination.” Welcome to the beacon of world democracy and civil rights.
