First Enron Criminal Trial Postponed Again

The first criminal trial involving former Enron Corp. executives has been delayed to allow defense attorneys to prepare for the government’s intention to seek enhanced prison sentences.
U.S. District Judge Ewing Werlein postponed the Aug. 18 conspiracy trial of four former Merrill Lynch & Co. executives and two former mid-level Enron executives to Sept. 20 to allow more time for trial preparations, defense attorneys said.
