Have Dodgers Done Enough? Or Anything?

Dodger fans can look forward to another year of mediocrity (Yes, the wild card in the West, a .250 team batting average and a sweep by the Braves means mediocrity). Alou, Bonilla and Eisenreich are Marlins. King and Bell are Royals. Meanwhile, Fred Claire went back to the flea market and bought the same used item you always see in the bargain bin--Todd Zeile.
Not only will Zeile strike out like crazy, he has less range at third than Sally Struthers. So much for that sharp left-side defense. They needed a second baseman, a center fielder, a leadoff hitter and a fifth starter. They got Nelson Liriano. Claire would have us believe the Dodgers don’t have the cash to pick up a free agent or two. Funny. I never thought L.A. was a small-market town.

Why is it that the Texas Rangers, one of the best teams in the American League last season, are going out and signing free agents in an attempt to win it all, while the Dodgers, who disgraced themselves and their fans the last two weeks of the season, and had a team batting average of .250, among other gross deficiencies, have done nothing. Believe me, getting Todd Zeile is the same as doing nothing. What have Dodger fans done to be so undeserving of a championship-caliber team?
