In Defense of Etheridge

What concert was your reviewer at? (“Grand Stand for Etheridge,” Dec. 24). The paying members of the nearly sold-out audience at the Melissa Etheridge concert were treated to a three-hour, very moving homecoming by a veteran singer and songwriter who gave it her all after a yearlong tour.
Sure, there were some instrumental sections, probably designed to give her a chance to catch her breath.
Who else plays three hours without an intermission? Your reviewer completely overlooked the emotion of the moment, from the tears in her eyes during “Come to My Window” to trying to savor every moment during her performance and encores and keep it precious during an upcoming non-touring year.
Nobody rocks you like the way she does!
