La Habra, which shared the Freeway League title with Sunny Hills, has prospered this season because of a balanced attack. But in the first two rounds of the Southern Section Division III playoffs, Shambeck moved into the forefront. She had 28 kills and seven digs in the Highlanders’ four-game victory over Foothill in the second round. “She has raised her hitting percentage a whole bunch so our setter feels confident to go to her in more situations,” La Habra Coach Robert Machan said. “She’s really putting the ball away.”
