Douglas Dierdorf has been appointed director of research and development for the HTL/Kin-Tech division of Newport Beach-based Pacific Scientific Co. The division, with facilities in Duarte and Yorba Linda, makes fire detection and suppression products. Dierdorf was previously senior research scientist at the New Mexico Engineering Research Institute of the University of New Mexico.
