Jaguar driver Davy Jones set a North American road racing record in qualifying to earn the pole position for the Camel Continental IX for IMSA Camel GT sports cars at Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Jones shattered Bernd Schneider’s record speed of 146.181 m.p.h., set last year in a Porsche 962C, turning a blistering lap of 150.335 m.p.h. in his Jaguar XJR-14 around the newly reconfigured 2.45-mile road course.
