Alvin Davis’ first-inning sacrifice fly was his first run batted in since June 5 and second since May 20. . . . Von Hayes, who sprained his left ankle Sunday, expects to be out of the lineup until the Angels’ four-game series at Seattle, which begins Thursday. . . . Lee Stevens (strained rib cartilage) didn’t start but was cleared to play. . . . Hubie Brooks, on the disabled list because of a strained neck, underwent tests Tuesday in Los Angeles but results weren’t available. . . . Edmonton right fielder Tim Salmon was leading the Pacific Coast League with a .381 batting average, 14 home runs and 70 RBIs through Monday. . . . As announced, Lance Parrish was placed on waivers Tuesday.
