Tomato Time: A real Whistle Stop Cafe serving real fried green tomatoes will open this week in Juliette, Ga., the small town where the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes” was filmed about 18 months ago. Director Jon Avnet urged locals in the mill town of 500 to open the cafe when he was working on the film, which starred Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates.
