Washington: Glamping on the San Juan Islands
- Share via
Get out and enjoy nature? Oh please. It’s a lot of hard work, and what do you get for it?
A backache from lugging all the equipment, a sleeping bag with a broken zipper, and who forgot the matches?
Wanderlust Hospitality has a better idea: glamorous camping, or glamping, this summer in three state parks on Washington’s San Juan Islands.
To celebrate the solstice and the beginning of summer, glamping sites will be in place June 21-24 for a three-night, four-day stay in Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island. $1,199 per glamper.
Want to celebrate Memorial Day or July 4th? Glamping sites will be set up May 24-27, July 1-4 and July 5-8 in Moran State Park on Orcas Island for three-night/four-day adventures. Rates from $999 to $1,199 per glamper, depending on the date.
And for summer’s grand finale, there will be glamping Aug. 30-Sept. 2. in Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island for another three-night/four-day stay. $1,199 per glamper.
The glamping sites will be equipped with safari-style canvas wall tents, comfy queen-sized beds with real mattresses (you can ditch that foam pad) and luxury linens, and tables and chairs.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be prepared on-site with locally sourced ingredients. Each stay also includes kayaking, hiking, biking and other activities. Glampers must be at least 18 years old.
The dates don’t work for you? Wanderlust can help you set up a glamping site based on your schedule.
