Napa: Suite deal at Silverado Resort & Spa starts at $179

Napa in winter can be nippy, but this Silverado Resort & Spa deal comes with a fireplace in a one-bedroom suite — and some nice extras, including a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, a free movie and more. Prices start at $179 a night.

The deal: The Cabernet Season Special is available on select winter nights and offers some discounts, particularly with golfers in mind: free use of the golf range, half-off golf lessons (save $40) and half-off golf club rentals (save $20). Along with the free bottle of wine and free in-room movie, you also save 20% on spa services and receive a free mimosa with a breakfast purchase at the hotel’s Grill restaurant. Use the promotion code “CAB” when making a reservation.

When: The offer is good for stays Jan. 22-26 and 29-31; Feb. 5-9, 12-15, 20-24 and 26-29.

Tested: I checked on rooms for Valentine’s Day, which this year falls on a Tuesday. I found the $179 rate, excluding tax and resort fees, available Feb. 14-16. There’s no minimum-stay requirement, so one night will get you the goodies.

Cheaper rates are available for smaller rooms at the Silverado; I found room-only rates starting at $129 a night, excluding tax and fees for the dates I checked. However, the value is a good one if you want to stay in a one-bedroom suite, particularly considering prices without the package usually start at $179 a night. What drives this deal too are the discounts; golf- and spa-lovers get a nice break.
