Las Vegas: Benefit for hospitality students blends dancing, dining

The chefs of the future will put on a culinary show and a popular hip-hop dance troupe will perform as well at a night of food tastings at the Luxor in Las Vegas.
The Luxor Hotel & Casino will host the Epicurean Charitable Foundation’s M.E.N.U.S. fundraiser on Oct. 4.
The proceeds from M.E.N.U.S., which stands for Mentoring and Educating Nevada’s Upcoming Students, will help fund scholarships for underprivileged high school students wanting to pursue careers in the hospitality and food and beverage industries.
The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception. It will be followed by a private performance of “Prism,” Jabbawockeez’s new dance show, at 7 p.m.
After the show, from about 8:30 p.m. to midnight, guests will gather poolside for a dine-around experience featuring samplings and spirits from more than 30 Las Vegas restaurants. The eateries will include Strip staples such as Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House and Tender Steak & Seafood. Neighborhood restaurants such as Bradley Ogden’s Hops & Harvest and Poppy Den by Chef Angelo Sosa will also be represented.
Students furthering their education thanks to the Epicurean Charitable Foundation will help prepare and present the dining event.
