Former USC quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley have new competition in Philadelphia.
It’s Tebow Time.
The Eagles announced Monday that Tim Tebow, who worked in broadcasting last season after his NFL career fizzled, signed a one-year contract.
Tebow, a Heisman Trophy winner who led Florida to two national titles, is one of five quarterbacks on the Eagles roster. Sam Bradford was acquired from the St. Louis Rams in the off-season, Sanchez started nine games for the Eagles in 2014, Barkley played in one game as a second-year pro and G.J. Kinne has been a member of the practice squad.
Sanchez is acquainted with Tebow-mania. He was the New York Jets’ starter in 2012 when the team signed Tebow, who had played two seasons for the Denver Broncos.
Sanchez signed a one-year contract in March.
Barkley is in the third year of his rookie contract.
