Washington State’s Mike Leach is Pac-12’s leading funnyman

Washington State Coach Mike Leach won the day when it came to one-liners.
Leach, when asked for his opening remarks: “All right, any questions? Those of you who know me know I don’t do opening remarks.”
On his thoughts on the Heisman Trophy: “I’m in favor of it.”
On whether he would play a game in Australia: “Yeah, especially if I could stay for a month.”
Leach also mimicked what he described as reporters’ “goofy kind of pose” while asking annoying questions.
One topic forced him to turn serious: the possible expansion of the four-team playoff.
“I think we need a more expanded playoff system,” Leach said. “I think we need one that has 16 teams or more and I think that would mitigate that. Rather than speculation and projecting and rankings and all this, it would be settled on the field.”
