Tiger Woods gets apology from golf columnist for cheating insinuation

Golf commentator Brandel Chamblee did an about-face Wednesday, making a public apology for insinuating that Tiger Woods had cheated during the PGA Tour season.
In a recent column for Golf.com, Chamblee listed several of Woods’ penalties for violations at tournaments this year and suggested that the world’s top-ranked golfer had been “a little cavalier with the rules.”
Woods’ agent responded by saying that he was considering legal action, which prompted Chamblee to defend his column Tuesday.
“I’m paid to have and give an opinion, and I work hard to form those opinions based upon facts, not agenda,” he stated in an email to the Associated Press.
But on Wednesday, Chamblee sounded a different tone on his Twitter account.

Officials penalized Woods at the Masters, the BMW Championship and an Abu Dhabi event this year. There was also some debate about an incident at the Players Championship.
