Update: The Galaxy will again be without Landon Donovan and David Beckham, who did not travel with the club to Texas. Donovan is suspended for the match because of yellow card accumulation after receiving his fifth of the season last weekend against Chivas USA. Beckham is in London participating in the opening ceremony at the Olympics. The pair was in Philadelphia participating in the MLS All-Star game earlier this week, causing them to miss Tuesday’s exhibition match with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. In their absence, the Galaxy managed a 1-1 tie against Tottenham, which was in the U.S. as part of a three-match preseason tour. Without its two stars, the Galaxy will face a rested FC Dallas squad coming off a 5-0 victory over Portland last weekend. However, Dallas is eighth in the Western Conference standings. The Galaxy and FC Dallas played to a 1-1 tie in their match earlier this season.
