London Olympics: Elite Moroccan runner Selsouli fails doping test

Mariem Alaoui Selsouli of Morocco has tested positive for doping, jeopardizing her place at the London Olympics.
French sports daily L’Equipe reported Monday that the World Anti-Doping Agency found a banned diuretic in her urine sample taken July 6. That is the same day she finished a 1,500-meter race in 3 minutes 56.15 seconds at the Paris Diamond League meeting, the best time in the world this year.
Selsouli finished serving a two-year ban last August for using EPO before the 2009 world championships. If Monday’s report is correct, she could be banned for life.
