Lakers’ Week 24 in review

The Lakers finished Week 23 with a 106-78 blowout at the hands of the Clippers on Sunday.

They began Week 24 with a quick rematch, giving a much better effort, in a 105-100 loss on Tuesday.

Jordan Clarkson, who had one of his worst games of the season on Sunday, got back on track two days later.

Coach Byron Scott said he and his staff will keep teaching the team’s young players, even though some pupils are unwilling.

The Lakers fell on Wednesday to the Denver Nuggets, 119-101, falling apart in the third quarter.

Jeremy Lin was sidelined by a knee injury that will keep him out the rest of the season.

On Friday, the Lakers snapped a five-game losing skid with a 106-98 with a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The team fell to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night, 120-106.

The Lakers expected to re-sign guard Dwight Buycks after his 10-day contract expired after the Dallas loss, but he broke his hand in the game.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have been in unfamiliar waters when it comes to the tricky concept of tanking.

The Lakers will head into the draft lottery in fourth position, but with their actual draft position up in the air -- although season ticket holders will have to renew prior to the lottery

Jahlil Okafor and Karl-Anthony Towns, two top prospects, declared for the NBA draft.

Clarkson said he won’t mind if the Lakers get another point guard

Finally, the team is moving ahead on a planned training center in El Segundo.
