Behind the scenes, the Lakers have added two people to their public relations department, hiring Calder Hynes and Daniel Ramirez.
Hynes, who previously worked for the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans), was named manager, public relations, on Monday.
He’ll take over for Josh Rupprecht, who left the team to join UCLA Athletics as the associate athletic director, communications.
Ramirez moves from the D-Fenders to the Lakers as coordinator, public relations. He’ll replace Nick Mazzella, who was recently named general manager of the D-Fenders.
The Lakers hold their annual media day Saturday, marking the start of training camp for the 2013-14 season.
Opening night will be Oct. 29, at home against the Clippers.
