Lakers lead Houston at halftime, 56-51

Reporting from Houston -- The Lakers lead the Houston Rockets at halftime, 56-51, Tuesday at Toyota Center.
Kobe Bryant has 15 points as the Lakers try to improve upon a 9-14 road record.
The Lakers held a 15-point lead after scoring 40 points in the first quarter, their most in any quarter this season. In fact, the Lakers led by as many as 17 before losing a large chunk of it by halftime.
Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol each have 21 points. Ramon Sessions came off the bench and had four points and two assists in 11 minutes for the Lakers (28-17).
Houston is playing without starting guards Kyle Lowry (bacterial infection) and Kevin Martin (sore right shoulder). Luis Scola has 10 points for the Rockets (24-22).
The Lakers complete their two-game Texas trip Wednesday in Dallas.
