SCOUTING REPORT: It lacks the marquee names of the other semifinal, but La Salle is a battle-tested team from the Atlantic 10 Conference and Wichita State emerged from the Missouri Valley. La Salle, which defeated Mississippi to advance to the Sweet 16, got some welcome news Wednesday when Steve Zack was cleared to play. He missed four weeks because of a foot injury. That could help against a Wichita State team that ranks seventh nationally in rebound margin.
KEY TO THE GAME: La Salle has thrived with a four-guard offense that, though small, has created matchup problems. Coach John Giannini can also go big if Zack proves sound. Wichita State, which defeated top-seeded Gonzaga to reach the Sweet 16, must use its size and physical style to slow down the Explorers.
