Aztecs rout Fresno State

at San Diego State 75, Fresno State 53: Jamaal Franklin scored 14 points to surpass 1,000 for his three-year career and James Rahon also scored 14 to help the Aztecs (18-5, 6-3 Mountain West) rout the cold-shooting Bulldogs (8-14, 2-7). The Aztecs, who fell out of the AP top 25 last week for the second time this season, used a 13-0 run in the second half to win for the fourth time in five games. Fresno State shot 24% in the first half, 29% for the game.

at No. 6 Gonzaga 74, Loyola Marymount 55: Kevin Pangos and Kelly Olynyk each scored 20 points as the Bulldogs (23-2, 10-0 West Coast) defeated the Lions for the 23rd consecutive time at Spokane, Wash. Anthony Ireland tied a career high with 30 points to lead Loyola Marymount (8-16, 1-10), which has lost eight in a row.

Pepperdine 72, at Portland 68 (OT): Lorne Jackson scored seven of his 22 points in overtime, as the Waves (11-13, 3-8 WCC) overcame a big rebounding edge by the Pilots (9-17, 2-9). Five of Jackson’s overtime points came from the free-throw line. Pepperdine also got 12 points each from Jordan Baker and Nikolas Skouen. Derrick Rodgers scored 17 points for Portland, which had a 52-37 rebounding advantage.

Long Beach State 83, at Cal State Northridge 80: Mike Caffey had 22 points and James Ennis had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the 49ers (14-9, 10-2 Big West) rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit. Caffey made a jumper, a three-pointer and two free throws as Long Beach pulled away from a 73-73 tie. Stephen Maxwell led the Matadors (13-12, 4-9) with 20 points and eight rebounds.

at UC Santa Barbara 66, Pacific 53: The balanced Gauchos had four players in double figures as they defeated the Tigers. Taran Brown and Michael Bryson scored 13 points each for Santa Barbara (8-15, 4-8 Big West), which shot 50% from the field and from three-point range. Ross Rivera led Pacific (13-10, 7-4) with 15 points.

Cal State Fullerton 79, at UC Riverside 67: Sammy Yeager had 28 points as the Titans (12-11, 5-6 Big West) rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit and spoiled a spectacular performance by the Highlanders’ Chris Patton. The 6-foot-10 center from Australia made 14 of 16 shots and scored 36 points for last-place Riverside (5-18, 2-9).
