USC drops one spot to No. 3 in USA Today coaches’ poll

Last week, USC fell from No. 1 to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll but rose one spot, to No. 2, in the USA Today coaches’ index.
This week, USC stayed at No. 2 in the AP but dropped to No. 3 in the coaches’ poll behind Alabama and Louisiana State.
UCLA, which debut at No. 22 in the AP on Sunday, checks in at No. 23 in the coaches’ poll following the Bruins’ upset win over Nebraska at the Rose Bowl.
Oregon is No. 4 in the latest USA Today rankings, followed by Oklahoma, Florida State, Georgia, West Virginia, South Carolina and Michigan State.
Stanford, a big winner over Duke, moved up five spots to No. 16 as it awaits USC’s arrival next Saturday in Palo Alto.
Wisconsin remained in the poll at No. 22 despite losing on the road to unranked Oregon State, yet Oregon State (1-0) is not ranked.
