Coyotes’ Shane Doan calls out refs after Phoenix loses to Kings

Anyone out there have some cheese they can give Shane Doan? He needs it to go with his whine.
In the locker room after the Phoenix Coyotes’ 4-3 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, a loss that eliminated the Coyotes from the playoffs, Doan called out the refs for their penalty decisions over the last three games of the series.
“I know they always try their best and I know they are going to make mistakes,” Doan said. “It’s just tough when your are on the short end of it I don’t know how many times. You watch the last three games and you try to tell me where I got my penalties.... The last three penalties I got, you tell me where I got them.”
Considering that the Kings outplayed the Coyotes in almost all aspects of the game throughout the entire series, it seems a bit petty to lash out at the refs after the series ends.
The Kings were the better team. Deal with it.
Maybe the Coyotes should change their name from Phoenix to Wile E. After all, they have a lot in common: They always lose to the superior opponent and then make a bunch of excuses for it. I believe I saw an “Acme” sign on the Zamboni last night.
