The Rams start the season 2-1 for the first time since 2006

Rams Coach Jeff Fisher told, practically pleaded, with his team before the season that he wouldn’t settle for another year of mediocrity.
There would be no finishing 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 or even 10-6, Fisher said in an episode of the HBO series “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Los Angeles Rams.”
Don’t get ahead of yourself, but the Rams are 2-1 and are off to their best start since 2006 after a 37-32 victory over the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
They are in first place in the NFC West.
“All I know is we got Arizona at Arizona next week,” Fisher said after the game when asked about avoiding a 1-2 start in his fifth season as coach. “None of them are easy, but we’ll take it.”
Said linebacker Alec Ogletree: “We know we have a good team in here and come to every game expecting to win, nothing less.”
A 1-2 start seemed probable when the Rams departed for the cross-country trip to Tampa.
They were shut out by the 49ers, 28-0, in the season opener in San Francisco and defeated the Seahawks, 9-3, in a home opener fell short of inspiring. Through two weeks the Rams were the only team without a touchdown.
“I mean you got to keep this right here, this momentum going,” receiver Kenny Britt said.
The Rams play the Cardinals (1-2) in Phoenix on Sunday.
