New York Mets lose two more key players to injuries

The New York Mets won their eighth game in a row Sunday, but lost two important players to injuries.
Catcher Travis d’Arnaud broke his right hand when hit by a pitch and reliever Jerry Blevins fractured his left forearm when he was hit by a line drive.
“It’s not a good day,” Manager Terry Collins said after a 7-6 win over the visiting Miami Marlins. “It’s a good day we won and we’ll take that away, but a tough day for us.”
The Mets are already missing captain David Wright (hamstring) and right-hander Zack Wheeler (elbow surgery).

Cleveland Indians right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco had his next start pushed back to Tuesday. Carrasco left his previous start last Tuesday after being hit in the jaw by a line drive off the bat of Melky Cabrera of the Chicago White Sox. ...
Washington Nationals center fielder Denard Span was activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The return came earlier than expected for Span, who had surgery to repair a core muscle in early March after a previous procedure to fix a sports hernia injury in December.
