Track: Zachary Shinnick of Damien is turning up the speed in March

What’s going on with junior Zachary Shinnick of Damien?
The track and field standout isn’t supposed to be in peak form in March, right?
Well, he still ran a blistering time of 10.53 seconds in the 100 meters this past weekend at the Bishop Amat Relays.
It’s another sign that he has every intention of taking on the likes of T.J. Brock of Chaminade and Michael Norman of Vista Murietta as the season progresses.
Brock, the defending state champion in the 100, is scheduled to make his 200 debut in two weeks in Laguna Beach but won’t try the 100 until next month at Mt. SAC. Chaminade will have a top 400-meter relay team with Brock, Jordan Chin, Reggie Hughes and a fourth runner still to be determined.
Norman is expected to make his debut at the Arcadia Invitational next month.
