High school ice hockey league doubles in size

The Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League will grow to 28 California teams for the 2013-14 season. Last year, there were 14 teams from 12 schools. It will have teams from Orange County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, as well as having Bellarmine College Prep from San Jose.
San Diego Unified will have a team representing all its schools. Villa Park, Woodbridge and Capistrano Unified have added teams. An all-star game for each division will happen in January, with playoffs in three divisions in March.
Most of the regular-season games will take place at The Rinks Anaheim Ice. The Honda Center will host the all-star games and playoff contests. Santa Margarita won the 1A championship last year and won the USA Varsity High School championship. Corona del Mar won 2A and JSerra won the junior varsity division title.
Servite, Damien, Corona, Edison, Huntington Beach, Bishop Amat, Orange Lutheran and Upland Christian are among the schools with teams.
