Punishment has been announced as the result of the brawl between Diamond Bar and Diamond Ranch last week that resulted in the game being halted with a little more than three minutes left.
Diamond Bar has decided to forfeit a scheduled game against Rowland on Nov. 1 because of lack of players following suspensions, according to a news release from the Southern Section.
Diamond Bar had four players ejected from the game at the time. An additional five players were ejected following review of video for fighting. In addition, all but one player on the sideline left the bench, meaning they are all ejected and can’t play in the next game as a one-game punishment.
Diamond Ranch had three players ejected on site and an additional five players were ejected following video review. Eleven more players will received a one-game suspension for leaving the bench. That’s 19 total. Diamond Ranch still intends to play its game against Rowland on Friday.
The Southern Section now considers the matter closed.
