Football: Multiple game balls needed for Hart-Valencia title decider
- Share via
No matter who scores touchdowns on Friday night in the Hart-Valencia Northern Division championship game, the game balls should be awarded to the linemen who either block or tackle, because they’re going to decide this rematch of Foothill League teams.
Either Hart’s offensive line is going to do a better job protecting quarterback Brady White after giving up nine sacks the last time the two teams played or Valencia’s defensive line is going to come through again and deliver victory.
Valencia is the No. 2 seed in the tournament but Hart is probably considered the favorite. The Indians have a healthy running back in Connor Wingenroth and Valencia will have to overcome the absence of defensive back Jay Jay Wilson, who was ejected from the semifinals and can’t play.
The winner is expected to land a CIF state championship regional bowl berth in Division II. Selections will be announced on Sunday.
