Boys’ basketball: Westchester routs Hart behind Elijah Stewart

Westchester received 21 points from Elijah Stewart en route to a 69-38 victory over Hart in a semifinal game of its own tournament. Myles Franklin had 16 points for Hart. The Comets will play Gardena Serra on Friday. Serra defeated Lawndale, 77-33, with Jason Richardson scoring 21 points and Tavrion Dawson getting 18.
Beverly Hills defeated Washington, 68-53.
In the San Fernando Valley Invitational, Alemany will meet Canyon in one semifinal on Friday. Alemany defeated Royal, 78-45. Daron Henson scored 22 points. Gary Chivichyan and Brandon Boyd added 15 and 14 points, respectively. Canyon defeated Westlake, 57-54. Ben Taufahema led Canyon with 20 points. Isaiah Brooks had 14 for Westlake.
Crespi advanced to the semifinals against Crescenta Vlaley with a 72-44 win over Saugus. D.J. Ursery, Max Heidegger and Mike Krkeyan had 16 points apeice. St. Genevieve defeated Moorpark, 45-43. Sophomore Ross Lee had 14 points.
At Maranatha, Price rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat St. Francis, 61-55, behind point guard Chris Martin. Kyle Leufroy led St. Francis with 24 points. Williams Brooks had 30 points and 16 rebounds to lead Rancho Dominguez past Pasadena Marshall, 96-51.
Oak Park won the championship of the St. Monica tournament with a 59-56 win over Newbury Park. Michael Alvarez, the tournament co-MVP with Cole Micek, had 22 points. Ron Vetti had 24 points. University defeated Verbum Dei, 77-59. CJ Sinada had 26 points. Nick Spates led Verbum Dei with 33 points.
Thousand Oaks improved to 3-0 with a 63-44 win over Diamond Ranch in the Sierra Vista tournament. Matt Hauser scored 21 points and Josh Hauser had 12 points.
Viewpoint defeated Valley Torah, 60-43. Tim Howell scored 24 points and Christian Juzang had 17.
In the Ocean View tournament, Verdugo Hills defeated Dorsey, 68-61. Erick Esparza scored 17 points. JSerra defeated South Gate, 76-38. Dylan Osetkowski had 22 points. Lynwood defeated LACES in overtime, 53-49. El Toro defeated Clovis West, 93-71.
In Reno, Nev., Servite was beaten by Jesuit, 56-34. Trevor Teinen and Neil Pauu each had 11 points for the Friars.
Schurr will play Los Altos in the championship game of the Bosco Tech tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Sophomore Pablo Lopez scored 14 points in Schurr’s 46-39 win over Bosco Tech.
