Going into the final week of the regular season in basketball, Diamond Ranch (19-6) is surging with a 13-game win streak and starting to pick up momentum as a possible Southern Section Open Division team.
Diamond Ranch is 8-0 in the Hacienda League and owns nonleague wins over Compton, Gardena Serra, Dominguez and Dorsey.
Former LaVerne Lutheran and St. Anthony Coach Eric Cooper is the head coach. Diamond Ranch has a 7-foot-1 center in Roman Silva, who is averaging 17.6 points and 9.7 rebounds.
A good test will come on Friday against Los Altos.
