Baseball: USA 18U team wins to earn spot in gold medal game

The USA 18U baseball team stayed on track in its quest of a gold medal by rallying for a 7-5 victory over Chinese Taipei on Friday at the IBAF World Cup in Taiwan.
Scott Hurst, who will be a senior at La Puente Bishop Amat and has committed to Cal State Fullerton, had two hits, including a triple. The USA team ralllied from a 5-2 deficit, scoring two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth.
USA will play Japan for the gold medal on Sunday. Jack Flaherty from Harvard-Westlake and Jacob Nix from Los Alamitos have also been key contributors.
