Baseball: Clay Rickerman throws no-hitter for Alemany

Mission Hills Alemany needed a lift and got it from junior right-hander Clay Rickerman on Wednesday. He threw a no-hitter with five strikeouts in the Warriors’ 5-0 Mission League win over Crespi.
Will Picketts had two hits.
Chaminade 10, St. Francis 2: Aiden Dolan threw five innings to pick up the win. Blake Rutherford hit a home run and Nick Kahle added two hits and a home run. Blake Mann also had two hits.
Chatsworth 9, Birmingham 5: Josh Garcia threw a complete game in the West Valley League opener, handing Birmingham’s Isaac Meza his first defeat. Max Mehlbaum had a two-run single. The two teams will play a second game Thursday (changed from Friday) at Chatsworth.
El Camino Real 9, Taft 2: Dane Reed had two hits and three RBIs and Jeremy Polon threw six innings for the win. Matt Cassin and Daniel Moreno had two hits each.
Cleveland 2, Granada Hills 1: The Cavaliers (17-1) received a complete game from Sam Villa (6-0), who allowed two hits and struck out four. Anthony Rivera finished with two hits.
North Hollywood 11, Arleta 6: The Huskies rallied from a 6-0 deficit. Brandon Sorto struck out 10 in five innings of relief.
Poly 1, Verdugo Hills 0: Manny Rivera threw a two-hitter in the East Valley League game.
Saugus 4, Soquel 2: Saugus finished 4-0 in the Beach Pit Classic. Tony Jacob threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts. Kyle Dawson had three hits.
Fountain Valley 5, Edison 1: The Barons improved to 11-4 and 2-2 in the Sunset League.
Huntington Beach 4, Los Alamitos 2: Nick Pratto threw a complete game in his pitching debut for Oilers, striking out three. Hagen Danner had two hits and two RBIs.
California 7, Pioneer 0: Jakob Farmer struck out 14 in five innings.
Santa Margarita 4-4, Capistrano Valley 2-1: Alec Telles struck out nine in six innings and Johnny Carr had two RBIs in second game. Carr had two hits in the first gmae
Mira Costa 8, El Segundo 6: Matt Beserra had two hits and three RBIs.
Quartz Hill 11, Antelope Valley 0: Tyler Vargas contributed three hits. Daniel Cardenas threw four shutout innings.
Esperanza 4, Anaheim Canyon 2: The Aztecs prevailed in nine innings.
Yorba Linda 2, Foothill 1: Ryan Bailey hit a two-run home run to lift Yorba Linda in the North Hills League game.
Oaks Christian 11, Westlake 0: Carson Rudd improved to 6-0 with five shutout innings. Adam Kerner had three hits, including two doubles, and Phil Quartararo had three hits.
Corona Santiago 14, Norco 1: Ryan Williams and Cole Cummings each had two hits and two RBIs for the Sharks, who had a nine-run first inning.
Simi Valley 7, Royal 2: Cal Hodgins went three for three. Shea Barry struck out six in a complete game.
Agoura 3, Calabasas 1: Michael Weisberg and Ben Baird combined on the mound to defeat the Coyotes.
Temescal Canyon 6, Perris 2: Tyler Hardman went three for four.
Bonita 13, Claremont 3: Tommy Delgado hit a grand slam to lead Bonita in a Palomares League win.
Glendora 5, South Hills 1: Jake Gaudet threw six innings. Bryce Wooldridge had two hits and two RBIs. Jacob Amaya had two hits for South Hills.
Moorpark 12, Oak Park 1: TJ Foreman, Greg Dominguez and Junior Sandoval each had three hits.
