A Marina High School student sustained minor injuries Tuesday morning when she was hit by a car near the high school, authorities said.
The girl was struck as she was crossing on her bike in a marked crosswalk at the Springdale Street and Edinger Avenue intersection at 7:08 a.m., according to Huntington Beach police.
The driver who hit the girl called 911 and stayed at the scene. Alcohol is not a factor, said Huntington Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt.
An ambulance responded but the girl’s father opted to take her to a local hospital himself. She was treated for minor injuries, Marlatt said.
