Free parking, admission at O.C. Fair on Friday

COSTA MESA — Friday admittance and parking will be free for the first hour as the O.C. Fair celebrates what has so far been a record year.

The fair parking lot opens at noon. Fairgoers will be able to park and enter the fair until 1 p.m. at no charge. Skyrides will also be free until 4 p.m.

As of midnight Wednesday, 1,113,647 people have visited the fair this year, compared with 964,603 as of the same date in 2010, said fair spokeswoman Robin Wachner.
