Emmo Home is the resource for all things modern, unique and functional that you didn’t know you couldn’t live without. And Emmo Home just opened a second Orange County location, a seasonal store at South Coast Plaza (its original store is at the South Coast Home Furnishings Centre in Costa Mesa).
Founder Andy Kim conceived the Emmo Home concept out of frustration. After moving to Orange County from New York City, he realized that urban-style home furnishings were hard to come by.
The first product that launched Emmo is a favorite — a shoe rack that solves the shoe storage problem in an attractive way. The wall-mounted shoe holder by J-Me ($90) displays shoes that “float” in a closet.
Now Emmo has expanded to carry stylish accessories for your bedroom, kitchen, bath or home office. It even carries products for pets, travel and garden and eco-friendly items. Choose from popular brands from all over the world including Stelton, Blomus, Alessi, Kartell, Magis, Vipp and Artecnica.
Emmo Home is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The OC Mart concept was created by Andrea Young, owner of the Paper House.
“I founded this on the idea that unique businesses could enjoy a venue where they can benefit from synergy and thrive,” Young said.

SPECIALS ON INDIAN CUISINE
Normally when things are too good to be true, they are, with the exception of Royal Khyber’s $10 for two-course lunch menu, and its $20 for three-course dinner menu. Royal Khyber is easily my favorite northern Indian restaurant in Orange County; the food is heavenly. And the chef-owner, Arun Puri, goes out of his way to make customers feel at home. If you love Indian food, you will not be disappointed.
Featured are a two-course express lunch menu starting as low as $10 offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; a three-course dinner menu starting as low as $20 offered 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Royal Khyber is at 1621W. Sunflower Ave. in Santa Ana. For more information, call (714) 436-1010.
