Vinci is president of Lex Romana

Janice Vinci, a Laguna Beach real estate attorney, has been named president of Lex Romana for 2009.

Lex Romana, the Italian American Lawyers of Orange County, is an Affiliate Bar of the Orange County Bar Assn. Establishing its roots in the Orange County community in 1979, founding members include the Honorable James DiCesare, Frank Barbaro, Esq., Joseph D’Antony, Esq., John DiCaro, Esq., Joseph DiVincenzo, Esq., Andrew Lachina, Esq. and Frank Terreri, Esq.

In addition to organizing monthly meetings, Vinci has been instrumental in positioning Lex Romana as a soon to be approved provider of Continuing Legal Education for attorney members with speakers covering issues such as loan modifications, violation of the Truth-in-Lending Act and use of collaborative law as an option to litigation.

Vinci’s practice focuses on real estate law with an emphasis in real property title issues and title insurance law. Previously with Fidelity National Financial as in-house claims counsel, she handled title claims on various real estate matters from the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada.

Tidepool film wins Bronze Telly award

The Laguna Ocean Foundation’s “Tidepool Scene” film produced in conjunction with Barnstormer Productions and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau won a Bronze Telly in the Education category at the 30th annual Telly Awards in the film/video division.

The seven-minute film educates children and adults on the importance of protecting the tidepools of Laguna Beach and plays on in-room channels of area hotels, and is distributed to schools prior to their field trips to Laguna Beach. It is also showcased on several websites and has been shown on regional cable television.

The Telly Awards honor local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions, and work created for the Internet.

Business Club meeting Thursday

“Protecting Personal Information” with Christine Dwight will be the topic of Laguna Beach Business Club breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Catalina Room of the Hotel Laguna.
