The Wyndham Orange County Hotel in Costa Mesa has been put into receivership, according to Superior Court records.
The upscale hotel in the city’s arts district, near South Coast Plaza and the Orange County Performing Arts Center, is owned by Makar Baynorth Costa Mesa LLC. The owner had another of its hotels — the St. Regis Hotel in Dana Point — foreclosed on last month when it fell behind on loan payments.
Bank of America filed a complaint against Makar on July 22, and Jeffrey Kolessar was appointed the receiver a few days later, according to the records.
