Irell & Manella 11, Bandera 2: Nicholas Ontiveros had a home run and a double to lead I & M to an 11-2 victory. The home run brought in Austin Smith, who had walked, giving Ontiveros three RBIs on the day. Mason McLaughlin and Preston Ellis recorded doubles, while Ben Brooks and Jake Hastings (three RBIs) singled for the winners. McLaughlin gave up just one hit in 2 1/3 innings on the mound. Ontiveros followed and struck out three batters, while Smith struck out two in the fifth inning and Nick Sperr scored three times.
For Bandera, Max Kline had a double and struck out five of the nine batters he faced.
Irell & Manella 10, Jacks Surfboards 6: With the game knotted at 6-6 in the bottom of the fourth, Hastings delivered a two-out , bases-loaded single up the middle to score two runs. Ontiveros followed with a single to left that scored two more which gave I & M their final margin of victory. Ben Brooks was two for two in the win over the previously undefeated Jacks Surfboards. McLaughlin struck out four batters in two innings. Smith and Drew Peterson also had hits.
For Jacks, Stephen Menzia and Connor Bock were both two for three.
