“The Country Cooking of France” author Anne Willan, one of the world’s foremost authorities on French cooking, will host a book-signing dinner featuring a five-course menu at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Five Crowns.
Prepared by Five Crowns Executive Chef Dennis Brask, each course will showcase a specialty from different French regions paired with a corresponding French regional wine. All of the recipes come from Willan’s latest book.
The cost of the event, including a signed copy of Willan’s book, tax, and tip is $120 per person, or $98 per person without the book.
Additional books can be purchased for $50.
The evening will begin with a selection of tray-passed hors d’oeuvre including tarte flambée.
The dinner will include filet of sole with apple in a cider sauce and coq au vin.
Willan has more than 30 years of experience as a cooking teacher, cookbook author, culinary historian and food columnist.
Five Crowns is at 3801 East Coast Highway. For reservations, call (949) 760-0331 or visit www.LawrysOnline.com.
