Man robs jewelry store

Laguna Beach police are seeking information about a robber who allegedly stole five diamond rings and other items, totaling more than $50,000, from John’s Jewelry and Gems on the 300 block of Forest Avenue at 1:10 p.m. Feb. 6.
Police say the suspect approached an employee in the business, pulled out a handgun, and stole jewelry. The suspect fled the store on foot and was possibly seen getting into a silver four-door Acura with tinted windows and a California license plate.
There were no injuries reported, and no shots were fired.
The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 35, with short brown hair, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds, clean-shaven, wearing a tan long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and glasses.
Police have surveillance video from the store and are investigating the case.
