Huntington Beach couple found dead of apparent gunshot wounds

A married couple were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds inside a Huntington Beach home on Monday night, police said.

The Huntington Beach Police Department responded to a home at 7:43 p.m. in the 600 block of 8th Street for a welfare check and found a 56-year-old man and 55-year-old woman shot to death, the department said Tuesday in a statement.

The identities of the individuals were not being released pending notification of their families.

Detectives believe there isn’t an outstanding suspect or threat to the community, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
