Fountain Valley police seek help identifying arson suspect

Fountain Valley police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of vandalism and attempted arson.

Surveillance images the Police Department released show a man described as about 6 feet tall and between 20 and 25 years old.

In the images, which police said were taken the week of Dec. 22, the dark-haired man is wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white logo, gray shorts and red-and-white striped sandals. He also appears to have a tattoo that police described as a “demon or face” on his right leg.

Police Lt. Kham Vang said the suspect lit a fire that smoldered out. Police declined to say where and when the incident occurred.

The first of the three images the department released shows the man holding what appears to be a torch-style lighter up to a surveillance camera. In the next, he is leaning over a chair. The third shows him glancing into the camera while walking away from the chair.
