All clear at San Jose State; no gunman after all

An order for students and faculty in a building at San Jose State University to shelter in place has been lifted after officials determined reports of a man with a gun were unfounded.
A dispatcher with university police said the order was lifted at about 11 a.m.
Students and faculty in a building at San Jose State University were told to shelter in place after reports of a man with a handgun inside.
The university sent out two messages from its Twitter account shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday about the incident.
The first: “Per UPD 10:06am: Report of white male, all black clothes, possible handgun in Sweeney Hall.”
The second: “Per UPD 10:06am: Sweeney Hall shelter in place others stay out of area, rest of campus open.”
